Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown along with Piercetown firefighters survey the scene of a fatal wreck Monday afternoon on Welcome Road near Alliance Parkway. A car and an eighteen wheeler gasoline tanker collided. According to McCown, Michael Ethan Xavier Black, 22, of Williamston was fatally injured in the accident. The investigation indicates that Black was driving his vehicle traveling North on Welcome Road and apparently crossed the centerline and was struck by a Tractor Trailer traveling South on Welcome Rd. The victim had just gotten off work at the Walgreen Distribution Center where he has been employed for over a year and half. The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol and State Transport police. Medshore EMS also responded.
