Williamston to hold public hearing on rezoning of several properties – Dec. 4

Williamston Town Council will hold a public hearing at 6 pm on Dec. 4th to allow an opportunity for the community to comment on rezoning recommendations by the Town’s Planning Commission to ensure proper zoning of properties that were blanket zoned in 2008.
The public hearing will be held in Council Chambers at the Williamston Municipal Center, 12 W. Main Street, Williamston.
This correction will align with the town’s new comprehensive and land use plans.
The first request is to rezone parcels located on Sullivan St, S. Academy St., Broad St., Williamston SC for the referenced Anderson County TMS Numbers from R-3 Single Family and Duplex Residential to INS-Institutional District.
These properties are church properties and are not residential. Action will be taken by the Council to approve or disapprove this request.

245-19-15-004, 005, 006, 007;
245-19-11-001,006; and
245-15-08-002
The second request is to rezone the properties located on Belton Drive from R-3 Single Family and Duplex Residential to RC-Residential/Commercial District. These properties are strictly commercial properties. Action will be taken on this request.

The meeting is open to the public. Any interested party may appear and make comments for or against . Since this is a matter of public hearing, questions and answers will not be entertained during the hearing.
