Sylvia Brown

Sylvia Frances Dill Brown of Piedmont 85, wife of the late Rev. W. Alton Brown, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Rosell and Lavonia Smith Dill. She was a graduate of Parker High School in 1956. She married Rev. Brown in 1959 and served alongside him as he pastored churches in Ninety Six, Ware Shoals, Sandy Springs and Abbeville. Sylvia always enjoyed organizing the senior activities in their churches. She was a member of the Upper S.C. Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Churches.

She is survived by son, Stephen Alton Brown of Simpsonville; daughter, Susan Lee Brown of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Nancy Dill Batson of Taylors and Deborah Dill Nichols of Piedmont; brother Maxie Dill of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 19, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Scott Williams

Larry Scott Williams, of Taylors, 60, husband of the late Lela Gwendolyn Chambers Williams, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, he was a son of the late James Harvey Williams and Martha Jeanette Foxx Caylor. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was formerly employed with Pratt Industries.

Survivors include his sons, James Evan Williams of Greenville and Jeffrey Scott Williams of Taylors; brother, Greg Williams of Easley.

Visitation was April 16 at Gray Mortuary, with the funeral following in the mortuary chapel. Burial will be at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

Dot Rodgers

Dorothy Lou “Dot” Knight Rodgers, of Simpsonville, 85, widow of the late William Claude “Bill” Rodgers, Jr., passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Wister Eugene and Maude Allen Knight.  She retired from the BP Corporation in Piedmont.

She is survived by her son, Paul Rodgers of Simpsonville; sisters, Catherine Jones of Greenville, and Frances Chapman of Pickens; brother, Roger Knight of Anderson; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Gray Mortuary.  The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, with entombment to follow.

Virginia Keith

Martha Virginia Ferqueron Keithof Greenville, 89, wife of the late Donald Keith, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Born in Greenwood and raised in McCormick, she was the daughter of the late James Wiley and Sue Lou Carol Ferqueron. She was a homemaker and entrepreneur.

   She is survived by sons, Faron T. Cox, Sr. of Simpsonville, and Shawn Keith of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.

Connie McCann

Connie Cyrithia Parrish McCann, of Williamston, 80, wife of the late Farrell Mac McCann, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Born in Woodruff, she was the daughter of the late Vance Claude and Elizabeth Hostetler Parrish. She retired from Food Lion in Laurens and was a member of Beech Springs Church.

Survivors include her sons, Matt McCann of Williamston, Mark McCann of Williamston, and Mitchell McCann of Clinton; brother, Rick Parrish of Clinton; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren

 Visitation was held April 15 at Gray Mortuary. A graveside service followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Anderson, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.

Danny Williams

George Daniel “Danny” Williams of Piedmont, 79, husband of the late Nancy Joyce Spain Williams passed away Friday, April 12, 2024.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late George Henry and Minnie Matthews Williams. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from the Greenville News and attended Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Spence of Easley, Angie Allen of Piedmont, and Dana Stone of Fountain Inn; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Visitation was held Mon April 15 at Gray Mortuary with the funeral in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery West.
