West Pelzer and Whitefield firefighters had to extricate patients Wednesday afternoon from the wreckage after a commercial vehicle apparently slammed into the rear of a four door work truck entrapping multiple occupants. Two cars were also involved in the wreck that happened at the intersection of Joe Black Road and the entrance to Highway 29 north. At least ten patients were transported by Medshore to the hospital and two more were flown, one by MedTrans 1 and another by Regional 1.
