Anderson County Sheriff’s Report

Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:
PELZER
March 11  E.E. Standard responded to 508 Woodcock Rd. where he verified that a vehicle at the scene was stolen from Woodruff in Spartanburg County. The vehicle was towed in for forensic examination.
March 11  K. Evatt responded to 433 Old River Road in reference to a civil dispute between Rebecca Galloway, WF, 39, and Sandra Summerville, WF, 50 over a house that had escaped from a fenced enclosure. The dispute was settled without an arrest.
PIEDMONT
March 10- D.L. Brinston and R. Anderson were on patrol near the Ingle’s Supermarket in Powdersville when they observed a Jeep and Kia in the parking lot. They watched as the occupants all got into the Kia. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputies smelled marijuana.  Subsequent to finding more than 55 grams of marijuana and a scale in the vehicle, they arrested Chaffin Foster, WM, 20, 5’11”, 140 pounds, brn/blu; Michael Gregory, WM, 17, 6’1”, 135 pounds, brn/brn; and Allen Code, BM, 19, 5’9”, 140 pounds, blk/brn for possession with intent to distribute.
March 10  D.L. Brinston was dispatched to the Shell Station at 2501 River Rd. where Tyesha Humbert, BF, 19, 5’2”, 135 pounds, of Greenville, reported that Travis Gamble, Sr., the father of her child, had slapped her repeatedly in the face, before fleeing the scene. Photos were taken of her injuries and the case was to be presented to a magistrate. Later that day, Gamble, of Georgetown, SC, was taken into custody by J.K. Billingsley at a location in Piedmont, because Greenville County had two active warrants on him. He was turned over to GCSO deputies.
March 10  G.N. Hunt and Cpl. S.L. Steward responded to 423 Elrod St. where Robert Elrod reported the burglary of the home at that address. The house had been ransacked and some costume jewelry taken, valued at $100. The house had been unoccupied for three years.
March 11  K. Evatt responded to 1805 Hwy. 86 where he served a bench warrant on Gregory Bryson, WM, 39, 5’10”, 160 pounds, brn/blue and took him into custody.
March 12  D.L. Brinston responded to 412 riverside Dr. where Charles Parham reported the theft of his 2007 Suzuki King Quad 4 wheeler valued at $5000.
March 12  G.. M. Guthrie was dispatched to 505 Wren School Rd. where William Reid reported the theft of two stainless steel smoker units from his porch. The loss was estimated at $150.
March 12  B. Simpson was working the desk at the ACSO headquarters when Grady Spearman reported the theft of his SCAG lawn tractor from 107 Elrod Place Road. The loss was estimated at $7419.
March 12  J.E. Scott was dispatched to 101 Westside Court where Mark Goodreau reported the theft of his Pioneer CD player from his car. The loss was estimated at $150.
March 12  G.M. Guthrie responded to 125 Hollow Dr. to Watson’s Engineering Inc. where Bradford Johnson reported that someone had broken into the building and stolen copper wiring from the building. The loss was estimated at $75.
WILLIAMSTON
During the period of March 11 and 12, ACSO Deputies K. Evatt, B.C. Scroggs, J.M. Fowler and G..M. Guthrie investigated a series of incidents of malicious damage to property in the Webb Road/Welcome Road/ Firetower Road area.
Evatt responded to 922 Firetower Rd. where Cloraette Thomas reported damage to her mailbox, estimated at $20. Scroggs investigated a complaint by Barbara Brooks that someone had shot at her vinyl siding covered shed. Estimated damage was $250. Fowler investigated a complaint from Linda Deane, of 1320 Firetower Rd. that someone had damaged her and her brother-in-law’s mailboxes. Damage was estimated at $40. Deputy Guthrie investigated a complaint by Wiley Martin, of Am-Can Transport Services, that someone had cut a four foot hole in the f4encing. Damage was estimated at $260.
March 11  E.E. Standard responded to HTI Logistics, Inc. at 2100 Welcome Rd. where Edward Brickman reported that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen several items. The loss was estimated at $745.
