The Town of Williamston has taken precautionary safety measures in response to work being done on a local pond dam. Williamston Mayor Mack Durham said there is no immediate danger however Bigby St. has been temporary blocked to traffic and local residents along Bigby and East Caroline St. have been notified that work is being on the dam located off Moorings Drive in Williamston. DHEC recently notified the property owners that the dam needed work to bring it into compliance.
