The South Carolina Department of Transportation issued these stats as of 8 a.m. Wednesday: 1386 – Maintenance employees actively involved in road operations

10,355 -Tons of Salt (cumulative total)

2257 -Tons of Sand (cumulative total)

71,726 – Gallons of calcium chloride (cumulative total)

667,159 – Gallons of salt brine (cumulative total)

665 – Equipment in use

Conditions Wednesday morning reported by SCDOT:

Engineering District 2 (Abbeville, Anderson, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda Counties) – Road surface temperatures in District Two are ranging between 23 and 30 degrees. The weather is cloudy. Priority routes, some being high volume secondary routes, and bridges continue to be treated with anti-icing and deicing materials. All interstates are passible.

Engineering District 3 (Greenville, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg Counties) – Road surface temperatures in District Three are ranging between 22 and 28 degrees. The weather as of this report is clear in Pickens and cloudy in the remaining three counties. Snow and ice removal and treatment on both primary and secondary routes is the focus now as the interstates are in fair to good condition.
