Arrest made in Electrolux bomb threat

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Tremayne K. Corley, age 21, of Anderson in connection with two recent bomb threats received by the Electrolux company in Anderson. Corley was employed by Action Staffing and was working at the Electrolux plant on Masters Boulevard in Anderson. He has been charged in connection with the threats made on April 2nd and April 18th. Both threats were made by phone. A third threat took place on April 22nd and is still under investigation.

According to arrest warrants, telephone records identified Corley as a potential suspect in the case and he has confessed to the two incidents.

Corley turned himself into authorities at the Sheriff’s Office at noon today. He is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on two counts of Bomb Threat to Real or Personal Property.

Per SC Code of Laws 16-23-720 (D), a person convicted of Bomb Threats can be penalized up to 15 years in prison.

Sheriff John Skipperssaid, “We are all glad that these threats were not carried out, but the risk to our responders is still very real. We take all of these threats seriously.”
