Teen killed in early morning accident – Three Bridges Road

The SC Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in which a 15-year-old passenger in an SUV was killed. The single-vehicle accident happened on Three Bridges Road in near Cely Road at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. Troopers said a 27-year-old Easley man was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango, heading west on Three Bridges Road, when the SUV ran off the road, into a ditch, struck a tree, and rolled several times.

According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Jerry Randall Orr, who was in the back seat of the SUV, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. According to reports, Orr lived on Meadow Ridge Drive near where the crash occurred. He was a student at the Anderson Alternative School.

The driver and another 15-year-old male in the front seat were both transported to the hospital with injuries. None of the people in the vehicle were wearing seat belts according to the SC Hwy. Patrol. The accident remains under investigation.
