Williamston to vote on budget June 12

Williamston Town Council will hold a special called meeting Monday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. to hold second and final reading on the 2017-18 budget. A public hearing on the budget will be held prior to the vote. Council met last Wednesday (June 7) for a work session. The consensus of the Council reached during the work session included a millage rate (tax) increase, which would add approximately ten dollars a year to the  taxes on a $100,000 house; moving $21,000 for Envision Williamston to the hospitality tax fund; leaving the sanitation fee where it is, and making a number of other cuts.
