Numerous trees and power lines were reported down Monday morning in the Piedmont – Powdersville area as a severe thunderstorm with high winds moved through the upstate. A tornado was reported in the Seneca area causing widespread damage and the tornado warning continued along Hwy. 153 toward Greenville as the line of thunderstorms passed through early this morning. This large oak was down on River Road near Piedmont. Nearby residents used chainsaws to help clear the roadway. (Photo by Mike Gowan)
