An off-duty Anderson City Firefighter was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon and was killed. According to Anderson County Deputy Coroner Brent Simpson, Daniel Bagwell, 30, of Pelzer, was on Midway Road near Stevens Court, where his vehicle had run out of gas. Bagwell was attempting to put gas in the vehicle when he was struck by another vehicle.
Anderson County EMS, Medshore EMS, Anderson County Fire Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Office of the Coroner responded to the scene. The investigation is on-going by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
This is Anderson County’s 36th Traffic Fatality for the 2022 year.
