Williamston EMS will be offering an Emergency Medical Responder Course (formerly the 1st Responder Course) beginning September 4 at the Williamston EMS Training Center located at 115 White Plains Rd., Pelzer.
The EMR course is a 12 night course that covers CPR and Advanced First Aid. Classroom and skills testing will be required. After successful completion of this course a person is eligible to test with the National Registry of EMTs to receive national certification.
This course is the lowest level of Emergency Medical Responder certification allowed to work on an ambulance in Anderson County. If someone is looking to work for an EMS agency as a driver, they are required to be a certified EMR.
