One person was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital by LifeFlight after a two vehicle wreck on US 29 near Smith Motors Road. A car and SUV collided. The car traveled several hundred feet off the roadway, went through a picnic shed at an outdoor venue area. The driver of the car was airlifted and the driver of the SUV was not on the scene when troopers arrived. Whitefield firefighters along with Belton EMS responded to the wreck.
