Pelzer Special Election today – July 14

Voters will go to the polls Tuesday to decide the mayor and one council seat.
Will Ragland, Margaret Jamison and Harold Tennihill are running for the office of mayor. Gary (Garbo) Pridmore and Donna Ide are running for the one council seat. Pelzer Attorney Skip Goldsmith, Jr. has also announced that he will run as a write-in candidate in the Pelzer Election. Both terms are for one year and both seats will be open to fill the full terms in the next election.

The election is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation will on the ballot.
Anyone planning to vote in the election had to be registered by June 14.

The precinct and polling location will be at Life Journey Church, 2 Wesleyan Dr. Pelzer.
The polls will be open at 7:00 a.m. on Election Day and close at 7:00 p.m.

Voters will be asked to show one of the following Photo IDs at your polling place:
*S.C. Driver’s License; *ID card issued by S.C. Dept. of Motor Vehicles; *S.C. Voter

Registration card with photo; *Federal Military ID or *U.S. Passport.

At 9:00 AM on Election Day, poll managers will begin examining the absentee ballot return envelopes. This examination will be held at the Anderson County Board of Elections at 301 N. Main Street, Anderson.

On Thursday, July 16, at 9:30 AM, at the Anderson County Board of Elections at 301 N. Main Street, Anderson, the Pelzer Municipal Election Commission will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in the election.

In the event of a tie, any run-off will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, July 28.
