The Town of Williamston will host the Cancer Association of Anderson Hot Air Affair balloon festival this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4 and 5.
The festival will feature beautiful hot air balloons flying each day as well as 2 nightly glows on Friday and Saturday.
The balloon glow will take place Friday at about dusk and there will be a balloon launch. On Saturday the balloon launch window opens at 6:30 am.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, previously planned activities including food vendors, children’s activities, live music etc., will not be held due to social distancing guidelines.
All proceeds will go to the Cancer Association of Anderson, which assists local cancer patients and their
families !
The Cancer Association is also sponsoring a Jeep ride to the mountains where they will hit some trails on Saturday beginning at 7 am. The Crawling Over Cancer event will have on and off road portions of the ride. There will be designated points for people who only want pavement under their jeep and of course there will be raffle prizes galore and a 50/50 raffle! Cost is $25 a Jeep and all money goes to local cancer patients. Contact the Cancer Association of Anderson or check their social media for additional information.
