The South Greenville Fire District recently held a Dedication Ceremony for their new Training Tower and Rescue Truck.
Chief Matt Sutherland said during the ceremony, “The training tower before us today has been a long-time hope and dream of the firefighters and chief officers that came before us.”

The Training Tower was built by American Fire Training Systems and will be used for many years to come. Rescue 80 was officially dedicated also, and is replacing a 2007 American LaFrance Eagle Heavy Rescue that has been due for replacement for many years.
“The celebration of the arrival of new fire apparatus has been a great source of pride in the fire service for many years,” said Chief Sutherland.
Pastor Massey from Holly Springs Baptist Church was on hand to say a blessing over the firefighters, new training tower, and new rescue truck. To close the ceremony, the American Flag was passed by all firefighters and raised on the training tower, signifying the dedication of the building and truck to the community of South Greenville.
