Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents in early July:
July 15 – Sgt. D. R. Hart was dispatched to Dollar General, 526 West Main St., in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to reports, the suspect, a white female left the business in a black car before officer arrived. The unknown female, identified as a heavy set with black hair was observed walking around the store eating a bag of Zappos VooDoo KTL 8 oz. and drinking a 20 oz., Sprite soda. She was wearing a dark color shirt, blue and white stretch pants and flip flops. The suspect was confronted about paying for the items and left the items in a basket at the register. A box of tampons were opened and some were missing. Total value of items was $33.15.
July 13 – Officer R. C. Burgess was dispatched to 301 Williams St. in regards to a larceny. Roslyn Denise Benson reported the four brown folding lawn chairs valued at $150 were taken from the residence.
July 12 – Valdimir Vasilyevich Denisyuk, 61, 449 Cheddar Road, Belton reported a missing person. Denisyuk stated he had not seen or heard from his son Samuel since June 25. Samuel Denisyuk was last seen in Mineral Spring Park. S. Denisyuk was entered into NCIC as missing endangered. Lt. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
July 12 – Billy Lee Imhoff, 87, 2017 Anderson Hwy. reported ten unknown transactions on his Upstate Federal Credit Union account. Transactions on July11 included Best Buy: $529.99, $534.99; $1084.35, $528.53 and $111.24; Dairyland Insurance $195.87; SC Dept of probation, paroles and pardon services: $500, $10.50, $1899; Money transferring prisoner (for probation fees or restitution) $38.38; July 13 QuickTrip $235. According to reports, the Credit Union was reporting the case to the fraud division for investigation.
July 11 – Officer F. S. Thompson was dispatched to Dollar General, 526 West Main St. in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to reports, a female wearing a black tank top with white/yellow flowers, blue jeans, dark color flip flops and a black duffel bag left the store with female hygiene products valued at $15. Items taken included Simply Sensitive hygiene wipes and one bottle of always Cleanse body wash. The female subject left the store in the direction of the woods behind the store.
July 8 – Officer R. C. Burgess was dispatched to 7 West 2nd Street regarding loud noise. According to reports, officers observed Annie Ruth Chastain, 80, 4 W 2nd St. yelling and using profanity while small children were playing across the street. Chastain was warned if she continued officers would seek to obtain a warrant for breach of peace. Chastain yelled “I have a .38 and if we tried we would be leaving on a slab.” Officer Burgess contacted Judge Lollis to seek a warrant for threatening the life of a public employee. The warrant was issued. On July 13, Chastain was arrested and transpoted to ACDC for the warrant.
July 7 – Officer M. Rose and J. M. Cobb were dispatched to Dollar General in reference to a shioplifting incident. According to reports, a white female with a child, scanned miscellaneous items valued at $52.75 at the self checkout but it could not be confirmed by surveillance video if the suspect tried paying for the items.
July 6 – A brown wallet conatining three SC drivers licenses, a green light Master Card, a Food Lion MVP card and a birth certificate were found in the front old dispatch area of the Williamston Police Department. The wallet and contents were placed into evidence. Lt. L. B. Culbertson reported.
July 6 – A Samsung cell phone was found in the old front dispatch area of the WPD.
