One person was shot Friday night (Dec. 29) on Breazeale Street in Belton. The individual was flown to Prisma Health Greenville by Med-Trans 1. Williamston police officers and Honea Path responded as backup for Belton. The SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was called in to assist with the investigation. SLED Agents charged Charles Bernard Norris, 59, on Saturday, Dec. 30, with Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Felony. SLED was requested to investigate by the Belton Police Department. Norris was booked at the Anderson County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
