Bertha Jewel Fousek

Bertha Jewel Fousek, age 76, of Williamston, SC, passed peacefully from this world of woe to her Heavenly Home on Monday, May 27, 2024. As she transitioned to the Father’s House, she was surrounded by her loving family including her most loving husband, Ron, and her son, Art, his wife Haley, granddaughter, Windsor-Rose, and grandson, Erskine.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Cecil Gambrell Beebe. She is survived by her loving husband, Ron, of sixty years of marriage, her son, Art and his wife Haley, granddaughter, Windsor-Rose; grandson, Erskine; brother, Marshall and his wife Pat. She was preceded to Heaven by brothers, Gerald and Sherman.

Jewel was a devoted wife to Ron, with whom they shared sixty plus years of a wonderful life together as husband and wife. She was everything to him that a precious wife could be. As a Pastor’s wife, she served her Lord for over fifty years with faithfulness to her Lord and to our several churches. Jewel always presented herself as a beautiful Christian lady. She loved to be fashionable and loved to shop for something new to wear come Sunday. She and Ron loved to vacation together and celebrate special occasions as husband and wife. She was so very proud of her son, Art and his precious family, his wife Haley, daughter, Windsor-Rose, and son, Erskine always wanting to present them with a gift. She was always unselfish, putting her family first before any needs or wants she had. She had a wonderful, sincere faith in her Lord Jesus and exemplified that all of her life. In all of the churches we served she loved teaching Sunday School. Also, she loved to decorate and fill the churches with beautiful flowers and other enhancements to make the church look so beautiful and inviting. So much could be added but suffice to say she was all she was created to be and more. Never to be forgotten! Forever cherished! Now in Heaven awaiting that grand day when we shall see our precious Jewel again. Until then, we continue as she would want…faithfully serving our Lord and loving one another.

Thank you to Dr. John Doster and his medical team at the Anderson Cancer Center for the years of excellent and compassionate care. Also, thank you to our brothers and sisters in the Lord from our Big Creek family and all of our churches that have faithfully prayed and shared their love and compassion.

A Celebration of Life Service in memory of Jewel was held Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Big Creek Baptist Church in Williamston, SC, led by Dr. David Gallamore. The family received friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Burial followed at Whitefield Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers in memory of Jewel are welcome. Other memorials may be sent to Big Creek Baptist Church, PO Box 187, Williamston, SC 29697.

Jewel’s favorite Bible verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13.
