There were tense moments for Cheddar firefighters and Anderson County Hazardous Materials Team members Tuesday night. A gasoline tanker carrying more than 8,000 gallons of gasoline was attempting to turn from SC 20 onto Maxcy Drive when the rear wheels dropped off into a ditch. A heavy duty tow truck was called to help upright and free the tanker which was laying at a forty-five degree angle. The truck was freed without incident and no product was spilled.
