Williamston Police Officers investigated an agressive dog incident and others involving thefts, drugs, alcohol and traffic offenses that led to arrests. Among incidents investigated were:

Apr. 4 – A warrant for possession of marijuana is being sought for a 17 year old male who managed to escape custody. According to reports, Jaylon Makiek McDaniel, 17, 137 Camelot Dr., Belton was observed running from officers patrolling on East Carolina St. According to reports he was located nearby and while being interviewed officers observed three baggies containing marijuana and a cigar wrapper in his waistband. While being detained, the suspect twisted away from officers and ran down the street. An arrest warrant is being sought. Captain K. Marsee investigated.

Apr. 7 – Vicky Acker, 106 E. Carolina St., Williamston reported a tag missing from a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. M . Beeman investigated.

Apr. 8 – Ashely Brooke McGaha, 34, 7 W 3rd St., Williamston was arrested and cited for a dog repeatedly running at large and vaccine violation after officers responded to an animal complaint. According to reports a neighbor reported a pit bull would not let him come out of his house to go to his car. When officers approached the house at 7 W 3rd, the dog was aggressive toward the officer and charged at him. Animal Control was called and removed the dog due to the number of times the dog has gotten out and how aggressive it is. K. Anthony investigated.

Apr. 8 – Officers chased a stolen vehicle after a small pickup truck was observed making an improper turn onto West Carolina St. from Greenville Drive. The vehicle also had no tag light. According to reports, when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it picked up speeds to 90 mph. The chase was ended on Hwy. 20 before the Greenville County line. Officers went to where the vehicle was registered at 108 Royal Drive and the owner said it was stolen on Mar. 30. DMV was down at the time of the chase. Z. T. Parks investigated.

Apr. 9 – Brendan Lee Jones, 24, 1022 Johns Ave., Belton was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence and no driver’s license after a gold Honda Accord was observed traveling 54 mph in a 35 mph zone. Reports state after several field tests and a breathalyzer test, he was arrested and transported to ACDC. While at ACDC a search found 10 white pills identified as Xanax. Z. T. Parks, Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Apr. 9 – Randeese Manzell Ford, 30, 527 Beaverdam Rd. #B was arrested for driving under the influence after Williamston officers observed a vehicle on cross the center line three times and then almost go off the road as it approached from the opposite direction on Anderson Drive. SC Hwy. Patrol was requested to assist with a DUI. After field sobriety tests Ford was arrested and transported. Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Apr. 9 – Tristian Pete Bowling, 19, 604 Foster Rd., Williamston was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol after officers were dispatched to McDonalds, 4 West Main Street in reference to a red Dodge truck. Bowling, the driver, was issued a summons. Two passengers, Cody Waldrop and Zachary Owens, (no additional information provided) were also arrested and issued summons. Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Apr. 10 – Joshua Daniel Bryant, 31, 518 Canebrake Dr., Anderson was arrested for driving under suspension after a vehicle was observed in the vicinity of Anderson Drive and Tucker, traveling at a high rate of speed with no tail light. Bryant was issued a summons and the vehicle was released to a licensed driver. Z. T. Parks investigated.

Apr. 10 – Caleb Trent Adams, 24, 22 Goodrich St,. Pelzer was arrested for open container in a vehicle after a dark color vehicle was observed on East Main St., failing to dim headlights and with no tag light. According to reports an open can of Natural light beer was found on the floor board of the passenger side. A pipe with a green leafy substance was found in the center console. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jon, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia for the pipe. The driver was also issued a warning for failure to dim lights. Z. T. Apr. 10 – Rita Faye Kelly, 45, 126 W. First St., Williamston reported a purse containing a drivers license, two debit cards, social and birth certificate taken from an unlocked motor vehicle. K. Anthony investigated.

Apr. 10 – Two people were arrested after the Belton Police Dept. notified Williamston Police Department that a person with outstanding warrants was in a purple GMC Sonoma pickup truck entering town from Big Creek Road. The vehicle was observed on S. Hamilton turning onto Traxler Ave. where it stopped at 24 Traxler Ave. Upon investigation, Kevin Vaughn, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested for outstanding warrant with Anderson County.

During a search of the vehicle, a purse was found on the drivers side floor board which contained several pieces of paraphernalia consistent wih the use of meth. A crystal like substnace consistent with meth was also found in a small clear plasic bag.

The vehicle driver, Albert Jason Patterson, 31, 24 Traxler Ave., Williamston was arressted and issued a summons for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a warning for having a tag registered to another vehicle.

Patterson was transported to WPD for additional testing on the crystal like substance which confirmed it as meth. A warrant was obtained for possession of meth less than one gram and he was transported to ACDC without incident. K. Anthony investigated.

Apr. 11 – Kimberly Simmons, 29, 211 Crawford St., Williamston reported several tool boxes taken from the front porch. The tools included socket and wrench sets valued at $300. S. N. Robison investigated.

Apr. 11 – Officers investigated a vandalism incident at Gray Dr. park in which someone wrote on picnic table causing $150 in damage. S. N. Robison investigated.

Apr. 11 – Kristen Leigh Langston, 35, 9 S Academy St Ct., Williamston reported a miter saw valued at $200 missing from a van. M. Beeman investigated.

Apr. 11 – Mallie Lisa Bowen, 56, 104 Meadow Ct., Williamston reported a cell phone stolen after being left on the counter at Family Dollar. According to reports a clerk at the store asked a customer in the parking lot if the phone was hers and the customer said yes and left with the phone. The Samsung Galaxy cell phone was valued at $150.
