Anderson County Sheriff’s Criminal Detectives have arrested a man responsible for numerous car break-ins at two businesses located in Anderson and Belton. David Shane Spears, 34, of 112 Hudson Cir. Anderson has been arrested and charged with 12 counts of Breaking into Motor Vehicles and 1 count of Grand Larceny.

Anderson County Sheriff’s Office took six reports of car break-ins at Piedmont Honda located on Clemson Boulevard on 12/29/2011. The next day, 12/30/2011, deputies were dispatched to Pickens Roofing located at 3361 Hwy. 29 North, Belton in reference to six company vehicles broken into overnight. During the course of the investigation a deputy located the vehicle that had been identified through video surveillance as the vehicle used during the thefts. After a vehicle stop that occurred on Dec. 30, deputies located property belonging to Piedmont Honda and arrested the man. A search of the man’s residence and the maintenance shop of the Hamptons Apartments where he was employed produced more of the stolen property from both Piedmont Honda and Pickens Roofing.

Spears was being housed at the Anderson County Detention Center where he awaited a bond hearing.
