The Pelzer Heritage Commission will sponsor the 1st Pelzer Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10am-5pm in the Pelzer Monkey Park located behind Bi-Lo located on Hwy. 8 and Hwy. 20.

The family oriented event has free admission. Parking will be available across the street from the Monkey Park at Pelzer ball fields and at old Pelzer Elementary School on Lebby St.

The festival will feature a Cruz-In… from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with DJ Wayne Wheeler featuring oldie and goodie songs. All makes and models are welcome.

Saturday will be wrist band day for children with rides on a trackless train, bounces and slides. There will also be Free Face painting.

Food Vendors will include hot dogs, barbecue plates, funnel cakes, sausage dogs, cheese fries, tacos, chicken on stick, quesadillas, roasted corn and baked goods.

There will be craft vendors with homemade items such as aprons, children’s hats, jewelry, scarves, gourds bird houses, yard wood items and more.

Business displays will include Verizion, Great Clips Hair Salon, Upstate Service Solutions, Advance America, Dixie Home Crafters, Mary Kay products, Scentsy and 31 Gifts.

There will be live entertainment with singing under the outdoor shed including the Lusk Family of Belton at 10am. Local gospel groups from the area will feature Living Truth, Dwayne Caple, All for Him until 2pm. K&M Dance Studio of Williamston will feature an hour of clogging and dance skits from students. From 3 pm -5pm there will be bluegrass music by “The Light of Dark Corners” band from Travelers Rest.

The Pelzer Fall Festival is a fundraising event for the Heritage Commission for improvements of historical sites in and around town of Pelzer..Applications for displays are being accepted through October 6.
