AFJROTC cadets from Palmetto High School participated in a program and wreath laying ceremony honoring veterans Friday in Williamston. Cadets and PHS band members marched from the school to the Veterans Memorial and participated in the program along with Mayor Carthel Crout and members of American Legion Post 121. In addition to recognizing local veterans, the names of veterans who are on the memorial and who lost their lives serving their country were read aloud. Two new names, Airman Nicholas Alden and PFC Justin Whitmire, who lost their lives more recently, are being added to the memorial. The AFJROTC Unit also held two programs honoring veterans at the Palmetto High School Auditorium on Friday.
