The Anderson County Council moved quickly through a thin agenda Tuesday night,
They began the part of the meeting reserved for resolutions and proclamations by recognizing the Palmetto High School cheerleaders for winning the 2017 South Carolina State 3A cheerleading championships. They followed up by honoring Ms. Donna Roper for her decades of service to the Anderson County Museum and to the Pendleton District Commission. County Council District 6 representative Ken Waters presented the proclamation to Roper (Photo above).
Later in the meeting, they approved two resolutions. One authorized the county to seek and administer a grant for Tri-County Tech for a recycled tire and plastic research program. The other one approved the Anderson and Oconee county joint plan for mitigating the impacts of natural disasters that might occur.
The Council also approved the disposal of a surplus automobile by awarding it to the Town of Pelzer.
