MARTIN ELROD

PIEDMONT – Robert Martin Elrod, 85, husband of Elaine Wood Taylor Elrod, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at his home.

He was twice married, first to the late Wilma Jean Owen Elrod.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Louie Calhoun and Nellie Ruth Little Elrod. In Anderson County, he served for more than forty years in law enforcement and retired from Michelin. He was a member of the White Plains Masonic Lodge #321 for fifty years, and was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Elaine Stoffel of Williamston; son, Robert Earle “Robbie” Elrod of Piedmont; step-daughter, Susan Lowe of Spartanburg; step-son, Ken Taylor of Pelzer; sisters, Ella Ruth Poore and Peggy Ann Fields, both of Piedmont; grandchildren, Tony Stoffel, Denise Gregory, and Joey Morgan; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by a daughter, Jean Elizabeth Mercer; and grandson, Chris Stoffel.

Visitation was held Saturday, June 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The funeral was Sunday, June 10, at 2:00, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted, and that memorials be made to Kindred Hospice, 1704 E. Greenville Street, Suite 1C, Anderson, SC 29621.

DANNY ALLEN “TWIG”

WILLIAMSTON – Danny Wayne Allen “Twigg”, 61, husband of Mildred Aretta Chapman Allen, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Born in Atlanta, he was a son of Annie Vesta Stapp Allen Smith of Pelzer and of the late Carlis Hugh Allen. He was employed at Honeymoon Paper Products and was a member of Trinity Baptist Tabernacle.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Marcus Wayne Allen (Amy) of Belton, and Danny Lee Allen of Williamston; sister, Pam Smith of Greenville; brothers, Jerry Allen of Pelzer, Ray Smith of Simpsonville; and three grandchildren, KayLee Marissa Allen, Ashlyn Nicole Allen, and Easton Wayne Allen.

Visitation was held Tuesday, June 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle, in Piedmont. The funeral was Wednesday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle, with entombment following at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Tabernacle, 824 Highway 20, Piedmont, SC 29673.

DAVID T. ESKEW

David T. Eskew, age 58, of Pelzer, SC died on Saturday, June 09, 2018. Surviving are daughter, Brandi L. Eskew and granddaughter, Addison L. Sutton of Anderson and brother M. Wayne Eskew of Pelzer.

David was preceded in death by his parents Bobby J. Eskew and D. Mae Eskew of pelzer. Also, brother, Terry J. Eskew and sister, Barbara A. Eskew of Williamston.

Memorial service will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2:00pm at Pelzer first Baptist.

The family will be at the daughters home. 317 Indigo Circle (Hampton Crest Apartments) Anderson, SC.

ERLENE M. CULBERTSON

Erlene M. Culbertson, 87, of Belton, widow of Ralph H. Culbertson, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Inez Jennings Milford.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, Hank Culbertson of Anderson and Mike Culbertson of Belton; daughters, Debbie Wright of Pelzer and Rita Watt of Anderson; five grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Garden of Memories.

Memorials may be made to Rainey Hospice House.

JUSTA ANNE SEGOVIA

Justa Ann Segovia, 72, of Piedmont, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at her home.

Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Maclovia “Mike” and Pauline Parker Segovia.

She retired from Honeywell.

A graveside service was  held Friday, June 8, at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Piedmont.

JAMES TOMBERLIN

James “Bo” Odell Tomberlin, 91, widower of Rosie “Bobbie” Painter Tomberlin, of Piedmont, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home.

Born in Gastonia, NC, he was a son of the late Will and Marie Tomberlin.

He retired from North American Textile Machinery and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving include son, James Ronald Tomberlin of Belton; three brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MATTHEW WILSON

Robert Matthew Wilson, 46, of Easley, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home.

Born in Greer, he was the son of Robert Nathan Wilson and the late Alice Faye White.

In addition to his father of Pelzer, he is survived by sisters, Connie Faye Caldwell of Easley, Sandra Renee Neely of Pelzer, Angela Hope Walker of Travelers Rest, and Jessica Lee Hutchinson of Easley.

The family is at the home of a sister, Angela Hope Walker, 6 Tex McClure, Travelers Rest.

No services are planned at this time.

SYLVIA ELLISON

Sylvia Jean Snipes Ellison, 76, of Williamston, wife of the late Edwin Lee Ellison, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Wilton Snipes, Sr. and Edna Viola Talbert Snipes. She retired from BASF and was a member of Williamston First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Chris Ellison of Williamston; sisters, Peggy S. Ellison of Belton, and Patsy S. Mize of Easley; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Sunday, June 10, in the chapel at Gray Mortuary.

Burial was Monday, June 11 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
