Otis B. “Bud” Gardo, Rosa Lee Taylor, Sam Broom

Sam Broom

Samantha Dubois “Sam” Broom of Williamston, 30, wife of Wesley John Broom, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 30, 1993 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to David R. and Dorinne A. Dubois of Williamston.  

She opened the Samantha DuBois Voice Academy.

She was active in her church Alive Wesleyan-Pelzer Campus. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her daughter, LillyAnn Marie Broom and son, Liam Mark Broom; her sister, Amanda Mlinar of Pelzer; brother, Deric Dubois of Rhode Island. 

   The memorial service was held April 20 at Calvary Baptist Church. Childcare will be provided.

Rosa Lee Taylor

Rosa Lee Gambrell Taylor of Piedmont, 100, wife of the late A.C. Taylor, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Born in Powdersville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Reid and Grace Merritt Gambrell. She was a homemaker and a member of Unity Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, Larry D. Taylor (Linda) of Piedmont; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was April 19 at Gray Mortuary and the funeral followed in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International, Golden Strip Camp, P.O. Box 1025, Fountain Inn, SC 29644, or to Unity Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 732, Piedmont, SC 29673.

Otis B. “Bud” Gardo

Otis Boyd “Bud” Gardo of Pelzer, 94, widower of Geneva Fowler Gardo, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at his home.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Beatrice Marchbanks Gardo.  He retired from Amoco and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include daughter, Teresa Gardo Alexander of Williamston; sons, Robert Lee Gardo of Pelzer and Otis Boyd Gardo, Jr. of Pelzer; sisters, Sara Turner of Pickens and Linda Gardo of Easley; brother, Jerry Gardo of Easley; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1300 Anderson Drive, Williamston, SC 29697.
