Deadline nearing to register to vote in Nov. 6 election

(Update Oct. 9) SC Voters will have until Oct. 17 to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election.  The state decided recently to extend the voter registration deadline an additional ten days to protect the voting rights of SC citizens due to the widespread effect of Hurricane Florence.

To help ensure voters are prepared for the upcoming election, the Anderson County Board of Elections reminds everyone of the upcoming voter registration deadline and urges those already registered to update their information. To vote in the Nov. 6 General Election, you must be registered by Sunday, Oct. 7.
·If you have moved, make sure you are ready to vote by updating your registration.
·If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county by the deadline to be eligible to vote.
·If you’ve moved within your county or changed your name recently, it will help ensure a smoother voting process for you – and your neighbors – by updating your information prior to the deadline.
Register online at: www.scvotes.org (requires SC Driver’s License or DMV ID Card)
·Register online before midnight on the day of the deadline

·Visiting your county voter registration and elections office, Monday – Friday 8:30 -5:00
·Downloading a voter registration form from www.scvotes.org.

Anderson County Board of Voter Registration will be open Saturday, October 6th from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. to accommodate those wishing to register to vote or update their voter registration prior to the registration cut off. The office is located at: 301 N Main Street in downtown Anderson.
