Campers enjoy Envision Williamston Creekside Camping event

Creekside camping – Tents were set up along Big Creek in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park recently for the Camp-In Creekside event sponsored by Envision Williamston. The event also included a week long Kids Scavenger Hunt.

Campers enjoy Creekside Camping event
Envision Williamston sponsored a Camp-In Creekside event overnight Friday evening into Saturday morning. The event included food, a movie, and prizes for a week long Kids Scavenger Hunt. Campers had tents set up along Big Creek in Mineral Spring Park for their overnight camping experience.
There were fourteen families that stayed overnight in tents and three people in sleeping bags.
Envision Williamston Executive Director Roberta Hamby said the event “was a huge success. There are so many people who made this event possible.”
EW Board Chairman Dr Marion Williams stayed for the event Friday night and early Saturday morning to help serve breakfast and breakdown everything.
EW Board Member Will Smythe helped with tent setup for the backdrop for a local TV news broadcast about the event.
EW Board Member Gracie Harvell Eaton worked on promotional materials, helped manage donated prizes and helped hand out Scavenger Hunt prizes.
EW Board Member Miriam Church helped serve breakfast and break down on Saturday.
EW Committee Member Hanna Mullikin helped with the event and the Prize Wheel for the Movie Intermission Prizes.
EW Committee Members Chase and Elyssa Maddox brought lemonade and water bottles and helped with prizes. Chase was instrumental in making the movie happen and helping with security. Jeremy Sargent also helped with the movie projector.
Town Workers Kevin Strickland and family and Debbie Chapman also helped with the event.

Hamby also thanked her husband, Mike Hamby, who helped with set up for the event.
“It truly takes a team to pull off an event, she said. “And we have a great team. Fun was had by all who attended and we have already been asked when we will be doing tt again.”
