The Williamston Police Department annual bookbag giveaway was held Monday, July 31. Approximately 300 bookbags were given out to kids in the community from Anderson District One Schools.
Envision Williamston Board and Committee Members helped with the event along with Debbie Chapman, Cindy Robertson and Tina Terry.
Duke Energy provided a monetary contribution and volunteers to help pack the bookbags; All About Fabrics provided a monetary donation. Eddie Morgan American Legion 121 helped with school supplies.
“Envision Williamston was honored to stand beside some of Williamston’s Finest Officers to help pass out bookbags,” said EW Executive Director Roberta Hamby.
Hamby thanked all who helped with the event. “We really have a great group of people who truely care about this town,” she said.
