Spring Water Festival may be hottest yet!

The 42nd Annual Spring Water Festival will be held this Friday and Saturday in Mineral Spring Park, and it is expected to be hot. Temperatures are forecast to reach as high as ninety-eight degrees both days, but in the mid eighties in the early morning and evening hours when most activities are underway.
Spring Water Festival Committee Chairman David Meade said there will be misting stations and plenty of water available for visitors during the festival and most activities will be in the shade.
There will be nineteen food vendors offering a variety of items with several offering cool frozen items, lemonade and other drinks. Maple Bakery will bring their new food trailer offering coffee and baked items early on Saturday.
The festival has 90 craft and boutique vendors registered and approximately 50 business and non-profit display vendors.
Will &Kris Amusement rides will have unlimited ride bracelets for $20 on Friday night.
Online and day of race registration is available for the 5K Run until the race starts at 7:30 am on Saturday.
Fire Chief David Huff said he expects approximately 150 vehicles to enter the auto show with an additional 30 to 40 for the new Jeep area. The auto show is coordinated by the Williamston Fire Department and sponsored by Clinkscales Chevrolet.
Entertainment on Friday will feature the Carolina Coast Band. Nashville Country trio LEVON will headline on Saturday evening along with Blue Sky Blues Band and Kendall Lanford and ClearView. Saturday morning there will be performances by Upstate Dance, Powdersville First Baptist Church Drama Team and a special performance by Matti Lee.
There will be gospel music throughout the day with ten different groups. Six of those have current or former radio singles including: Pine Ridge Boys with three radio singles, Epps Family with three radio singles, Jennifer Phillips with one radio single and one ready to be released, Redeemers of Faith radio single just released, All for Him with one current single and Catlin Tierce with one current radio single and over a dozen others over the past 25 years.
The Spring Water Festival will be held August 25 and 26 in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park. Friday hours are 6 pm to 10 pm. Saturday hours at 9 am to 4 pm with evening entertainment from 4 pm to 10 pm.

Road closures – On Friday, Aug. 25 from 6-10 pm – Main Street will be shut down from Pelzer Ave to Minor St. Detour is around Town Hall.
Saturday, Aug. 26 from 8 am – 4 pm. – East Main Street will shut down from Mill St. to Gossett Dr. on West Main St. From 4 pm -10 pm, Main St. will be shut down from Pelzer Ave to Minor Street. Detour will be around town hall.
