Delinquent property tax sale to be held Monday – Oct. 30

Anderson County property owners who had past due or unpaid taxes on their property, had until 5 pm this Friday, October 27, to pay the delinquent taxes on their property. After that it will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder on Monday, Oct. 30. Both real estate and mobile homes will be auctioned on this date.
The Anderson County Delinquent Property Tax Sale will be held 9 am Monday at the Civic Center of Anderson, 3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Properties throughout the county, including the municipalities, with delinquent 2022 tax payments, (and older), are being advertised this week in The Journal, Belton Honea Path News Chronicle and Anderson Independent for the last time before the sale. The listings are not available from the Anderson County Treasurer’s office.

On the day of the tax sale, no delinquent tax payments will be accepted at the sale, at the treasurer’s office or by online payment. (Defaulting taxpayers will have the opportunity to redeem items beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, November 20 at the Anderson County treasurer’s office at 401 River St.)
In the case of an owner having multiple delinquent properties, only sufficient property will be sold to satisfy the total amount due.
Items offered but not purchased will be available from the Anderson County Treasurer’s Office beginning 8:30 am Monday, Nov. 16.
Defaulting taxpayers will be afforded the opportunity to redeem items assigned at the tax sale beginning 9 am, Monday Nov. 20.
