Winter Wonderland features Christmas Tree and Park lighting, Holiday Market, free Carriage Rides and more

Envision Williamston and the Town of Williamston held their third annual Winter Wonderland event Sunday, November 26.
The “Williamston Winter Wonderland” Christmas tree, Park lighting and Deck the Halls event opening ceremony was held in front of the Williamston Municipal Building. The event featured special recognitions.
Activities also included free carriage rides through the park, carolers, Santa in the Scout Hut, hot chocolate, cookies, live nativity and much more, including snow.
A Holiday Craft Market was held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Municipal Center Auditorium.

The front of the Municipal Center Building featured new lighting for the holidays with five new 20 feet inflatables at the event.

Other special attractions included: Mickey and Minnie, Santa and Mrs. Claus and special guest appearances from a Snowman and Pals from “The Kingdom of Arendelle”.
Local churches provided cookies, hot cocoa and Christmas carolers. Hillcrest Baptist Church had a Live Nativity at The Bethlehem Stable in the park.

A Holiday movie played outside of Santa’s Hut for those waiting in line to visit Santa.
A local pastor(s) read the story of the Birth Of Christ prior to the lighting of the Town Hall Christmas Tree.
Williamston Mayor Rockey Burgess read “The Night Before Christmas” in the mayor’s office.
Horse drawn carriage rides were offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Carriages will load and unload in front of Town Hall. The free carriage rides were sponsored by the Palmetto Business Association.
Five food vendors were at the event.
Envision Williamston is sold spots for custom ornaments to be placed on the Santa’s workshop Christmas Tree in Town Hall. Spots are $5 each to reserve space for a custom 3 1/2 inch ornament to be provided by individuals who wish to have one on the tree.

Santa’s schedule for the Scout hut will be 6 pm to 9pm November 26 and 30, December 1-3, December 7-10 and December 14-23.
