Area Christmas Parades rescheduled to this Saturday

Due to a predicted high chance of rain on Saturday, all three area Christmas parades originally scheduled for Dec. 2 were postponed to Dec. 9
The Holly Jolly Christmas Parade in Piedmont will be held at 11 am.
The parade is organized by the Bonnes Amie Club. Parade entry forms can be obtained by calling Gail Trotter, Parade Chair, at 864-559-0430. Forms are also available at the Piedmont Fire Department.
The Williamston Christmas Parade will be held at 12 noon. The parade route will begin at East Main Street and Hamilton Street and end at the traffic light at West Main and Academy Street.
Check-in for parade entries will be held at the old Fort Hill Natural Gas Building located at 701 North Hamilton Street.
The Pelzer-West Pelzer Christmas Parade starts at 5:30 pm Dec. 9 at the West Pelzer Fire Department and ends at Courtney Street in Pelzer. To enter the parade, pick up a form at West Pelzer Town Hall (864-947-6297) or Pelzer Town Hall (864-947-6231), or download the form and email to Erica Bell at deltabell80@gmail.com.
Greenville & Western Railway Company, LLC, Seventeenth Annual “Santa Express” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9.
The event will include four local stops:
Honea Path – No stop at Hamby Road this year due to coal train in storage south of Belton
Belton – O’Neal Street – Arrive 9 am – Depart 11:15 am
Cheddar – Cheddar Road – Arrive 12:45 pm – Depart 2:15 pm
Williamston – Williams Street – Arrive 2:45 pm – Depart 4:15 pm
Pelzer – Lyman Street – Arrive 4:45 pm Depart 7:15 pm *
Other Upcoming Holiday Events –
The Williamston Cemetery Candlelight Service will be held at the Williamston Cemetery on Williams Street at 5:30pm on Thursday, December 7. A rain date is scheduled for 5:30pm on Tuesday, December 12.
The Cedar Shoals Baptist Church Annual Cemetery Candlelight Service will be held December 10th at 5:30. In case of rain, service will be December 17th at 5:30. The cemetery is located at 1045 Cooley Bridge Rd.
WACC plans 2nd Annual Black Tie Gala
The Williamston Action Community Club (WACC) invites the community to their 2nd annual Black Tie “Twisted Peppermint” Gala on December 9 at 6 pm. The event will be held at the Caroline Community Center’s auditorium. Sponsors promise an evening of fashion, fun and fundraising for a great cause.
