South Greenville firefighters examine a vehicle after cutting the injured driver from the car Sunday night. The wreck happened on Augusta Road south of McKelvey Road. One person was killed and another was injured.
According to SC Highway Patrol, a vehicle traveling South on Highway 25 crossed left of center and collided with a vehicle traveling North.
Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the driver who was fatally injured as John Michael Phillips, 55, of Honea Path. The second driver was airlifted to a hospital by MedTrans 1.
