SANDRA LEE CHAPMAN

BELTON – Sandra Lee Chapman, 68, of 314 Garren Rd., died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Dallas, TX, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Bishop and Jean Mount. She worked in management and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Surviving are: daughters, Dawn Allen (Richard) of Belton and Shirley Vincent (Charles) of Blairs, VA; brother, Toby Mount (Ann); sister, Shirley Owens (Jo); granddaughters, Candace Allen and Shana Yarbrough; great grandchild, Alex Cartee.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, James Chapman.

Service was held 11:00am Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Robinson and Kathy Terry officiating.

The family received friends prior to the service Tuesday from 9:45am until 10:45am at the funeral home.

Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Dawn Allen at 320 Garren Rd., Belton, SC 29627.

JIM HARRISON, JR.

PELZER – James “Jim” Rayford Harrison, Jr., 80, husband of Mary Newton Harrison, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016.

Born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late James Rayford, Sr. and Clara Moore Brown Harrison. An Army Reserve and U.S. Army National Guard veteran, he was a retired Staff Sergeant with the Army National Guard. He attended Clemson University, retired from the Kendall Company, was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, and was a Poll Manager at West Pelzer Elementary School for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sandra Austin (Doug) of Williamston, Lisa Dalrymple (Les Holliday) of Williamston; sons, James R. Harrison, III (Beth) of Belton, John R. Harrison (Pam) of Williamston; sisters, Joyce H. Cann (Allen) of Abbeville, Bobbie H. Arnold (Junior) of Abbeville; brother, J. Phillip Harrison (Jim Stevenson) Yonkers, NY; grandchildren, Dena, Jacob, Jessica, Zachary, Whitney, Haley, Cody, Evan, Nicole, and Kelly; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Jake, Kameron, William, Ava, Katie, and Caribeth.

He was predeceased by sister, Marie Harrison Cann Ashley.

Visitation was held Saturday, November 5, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Piedmont. The funeral followed at 11:00.

Burial was held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Abbeville.

DORIS ANN SIMMONS

Doris Ann Gambrell Simmons, 44, of Piedmont, died October 30, 2016.

She is survived by three children, Tabatha Robins, Johnlee Simmons, Jeri-Ann Smith; parents, Pat Luker Clark, Keith Gambrell, and Jerry Thurston; and sister, Michelle Ashmore.

A celebration of her life was held Friday, Nov. 4 at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Piedmont.

KEITH STEGALL

Keith Andrew Stegall, 61, of Belton, died Saturday, November 5, 2016.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Herbert Lee and Lillie Mae Hollingsworth Stegall. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former truck driver for Bi-Lo.

Survivors include, daughters, Ann Marie Conte of Seattle, WA, Kaylan Tatum of Elizabethtown, NC, Brandi Henderson of Belton; sons, Steven Conti of Belton, Josh Stegall of Piedmont; brothers, Bobby Terry, Scott Schubach, Tommy Moore; and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, November 10, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The family is at the home of Josh Stegall, 372 Browning Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.

MICHAEL A. SEMONES, SR.

TAYLORS – Michael Anthony Semones, Sr., 69, died November 6, 2016.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late James Kent and Frances Corene Bridges Semones, he was the former owner of Single Source Supply and a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Feronti Semones of Greer; a son, Michael Anthony Semones, Jr. (Melanie) of Williamston; a daughter, Melissa Semones Beasley (David) of Wellford; four brothers, Stephen Semones of Taylors, James Semones of Rome, Georgia, Douglas Semones of San Antonio, Texas, and Geoffrey Semones of Greer; two sisters, Theresa Angela S. Treon of Duncan and Monica Semones of Lilburn, Georgia; three grandchildren, Brandi Leigh Semones of Williamston, Christopher Brandon Semones of Pelzer and Evan Daniel Beasley of Wellford; and three great-grandchildren, Meadow Grace Wilson, Bryson Allen Brown, and Christian Alexander Semones.

Mr. Semones was predeceased by one brother, Christopher Vincent Semones.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

JAMES McALISTER

PELZER – James Lee McAlister, 78, husband of the late Shirley Ann Welborn Creswell McAlister, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016.

Born in Washington, GA, he was a son of the late Garnett and Ellen Murry McAlister. He retired from Greenfield Industrial. He was a prior member of Wren Baptist Church and a current member of High Praises Church of God.

He is survived by step-sons, Gary Creswell (Linda) of Pelzer and Daryl Creswell (Jo Anne) of Piedmont; sisters, Beulah Chappell of Westminster, Fannie Lou Smith of PA, Martha Pelfrey of Walhalla and Betty Barker of Oakway; brothers, Charles and Joe McAlister, both of Westminster; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sister, Emily Bramlett; brother, Frank McAlister.

Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday, November 10, in the mortuary chapel with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

BILLY JOE WATT

Billy Joe Watt, 79, of Williamston, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at NHC in Anderson.

Born in Antreville, he was the son of the late Olin Paul Watt and the late Lou Elsie Thornton Watt.

He retired from Duke Power Company. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Taylor Watt; son, Gregory Keith Watt of Anderson; daughters, Melanie Jean Watt of Boiling Springs, and Leslie Watt Kierstead of Newberry; sister, Minnie Lee “Duck” Turner of Anderson; and one grandson.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the home and will gather for visitation following the service on Thursday.
