A communitywide planning project to set the vision for the future of Williamston is currently underway. The project, being called Envision Williamston, includes two neighborhood input meetings and a community wide unput meeting in addition to sessions with elected officials, Economic Development and Real Estate, Merchants/Retailers Roundtable, Community Champions and Influencers Roundtable (Pastors, Neighborhood Leaders), Town and County Staff, Arts, Culture, and Tourism.
Envision Williamston is a broader initiative of the Main Street Williamston program and encompasses a planning process for the entire town’s future and commnity input will be incorporated into a Comprehensive Plan for the town.
Residents of the Brookdale Community are invited to the Caroline Community Center on Monday, May 4 from 6:30 to 7:30. Residents of the Mill Village Community are invited to offer input at Calvary Baptist on Monday from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Anyone interested in offering input is invited to a community wide town hall meeting on Tuesday (May 5) at 6:30 pm at the Municipal Center.
The input sessions are in preparation for a short and long term Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Williamston that will include parks, recreation, economic development and a road map for the town.
Anyone interested in the future of Williamston is invited and encouraged to attend the sessions.
