Investigate bus stabbing incident – The Williamston Police Department investigated an alleged stabbing on an Anderson School District One school bus Tuesday afternoon. The bus stopped on Brock Lane where Medshore, a QRV, Williamston fire, Williamston and W. Pelzer police responded. School District One officials also responded.

Juvenile charged in school bus stabbing incident

The Williamston Police Department and Anderson School District One officials are investigated an alleged stabbing incident that happened on a District One school bus Tuesday afternoon.
According to Williamston Police Chief Kevin Marsee, officers responded around 3:30 pm to a complaint of an altercation between two female students on a school bus at Brock Lane in Williamston.
The school bus driver pulled over to stop the assault and remove the students from the bus.
Officers learned that during the altercation, one student was cut on her hand with a pair of scissors. This injury is not life threatening, Marsee said.
Investigative units were notified as well as supervisory personnel, Med Shore Ambulance Service, and Williamston Fire Department. One juvenile was taken into custody and charged with assault and battery 1st degree and is being turned over to the SC Department of Juvenile Justice. The victim was treated by Med Shore ambulance service and transported for medical treatment and released to a parent.
According to Chief Marsee, this was an isolated incident however the investigation is ongoing by the Williamston Police Department and School District One safety personnel to ensure the safety of others and the school environment.
“The Williamston Police Department is highly appreciative of the assistance and dedication of its officers, investigative team, Williamston Fire Department, Med Shore, and the partnership with Anderson School District One,” Chief Marsee said.
