The Piercetown Fire Department, located at 5150 Highway 81N, Williamston, was recently awarded $20,000 by the Duke Energy Foundation for the purchase and installation of an Emergency Generator.
The emergency generator will provide 100 percent power backup for the entire Piercetown Fire Station resulting in uninterrupted emergency responsiveness, 100 percent equipment continuity, non-stop operation of their roof mounted Civil Air Defense/Tornado/Severe Storm warning siren. It also will help provide a viable shelter location for Piercetown residents who could be displaced, or sheltering, from a storm event. “Piercetown Fire Department is fortunate to partner with Duke Energy and their ongoing commitment to Community,” s spokesperson said.
