“We are pleased to announce Dr. Seth Young has been chosen to replace Mr. Binnicker as Superintendent of Anderson School District One,” Board Chair Nancy O. Upton said.
“It has always been our tradition to promote from within and Dr. Young is no exception. He started out in District One as a teacher and has risen up the ladder. As a teacher, assistant principal, principal and Director of Student Services, Dr. Young has excelled in every position. We are excited to announce his promotion and look forward to the outstanding leadership he is known for.”

Superintendent-elect Young said, “I am excited to work alongside the wonderful students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and our community to continue to build upon the tradition of excellence we have here in Anderson School District One. I am humbled and honored by the confidence our excellent school board has placed in me to step into this new role. I cannot wait to see the great things we accomplish together in the future to benefit our students. Despite all of the amazing things that have been accomplished in our school district, I truly believe the best is yet to come for Anderson One!”

“Mr. Binnicker has decided to retire at the end of this academic year,” Board Chair Upton said. “Mr. Binnicker has served this school district faithfully and with distinction in every position. He has always had the best interest of students and teachers at heart and has strived to provide the best learning environment possible. His outstanding management of resources has upgraded facilities, built new schools and started new programs to support teacher training while keeping the growth of our millage rate well within acceptable standards.”
