Public hearings April 1 on rezoning, annexation for Duplexes

Williamston Town Council will hold a public hearing on at 6 pm, April 1, regarding a rezoning request and an annexation request.
The first request is to rezone a parcel at 604 Belton Hwy Williamston (Anderson County TMS Number 221 000 7004) from Residential/Commercial to R-3 Single Family and Duplex Residential. The property is currently owned by Doug Chapman and is located on Hwy 77, Parker St Extension and Belton Hwy,
The second request is for annexation of a portion of 4.45 acres located on Brown St., Williamston (Anderson County TMS Number 244 020 1009), and annexation of an adjoining parcel containing approximately .56 acres, Anderson County TMS Number 244 020 1010) of which will be combined and remain zoned Residential Commercial until split at a later date, at which time the portion bordering Greenville Drive and Brown St will remain R/C zoned while the back portion will be zoned R-3 Single Family and Duplex Residential.
The rezoning will allow construction of a duplex on the property.
The meeting is open to the public. Any interested party may appear and make comments for or against the requests. No responses to comments, questions, or concerns will be provided during the public hearing which is a one-way conversation.
