TINA HAWKINS
Tina Maria Collins Hawkins, died May 25, 2014.
A memorial service was held Saturday at Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Kayla Hawkins Trotter of Pelzer; son, Allan Lee Hawkins of Pelzer; and four grandchildren.

FRED HIGH
Freddie “Fred” Alsey High, 72, of Piedmont, husband of Hilda Parris High, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Born in Wilson, NC, he was the son of the late Millon and Mary Louise Owens High.
He retired from the U.S. Army and also with the South Carolina Dept. of Transportation.
He was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Heather Leckie; and one grandson.
Funeral service was held Saturday, May 31 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast.

ELLIS BURGESS
Ellis Burgess, 85, husband of Ann Bradshaw Burgess, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Allen Burgess and Georgia Ann Burgess Rose.
He retired from Gerber Childrenswear and was a member of Dry Oak Assembly of God. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Diane Etters of Pelzer, Vickie Sims of Fountain Inn; sons, James Ellis Burgess of Greenville, Robert Franklin Burgess of Starr, Allen Clark of Belton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Calvin Burgess of Belton; sisters, Minnie Duncan of Travelers Rest and Beulah Chapman of Honea Path.
Funeral service was held Sunday at Dry Oak Assembly of God. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MAYBELL STRICKLAND
Maybell Hoffman Strickland, 72, of Williamston, widow  of Sidney Lanier Strickland, died June 1, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Surviving  are daughters, Debbie Wilson of Williamston, Nancy Smith  of Sylacauga, AL,  Mary Adams of Pendleton, Jeannie Barnard of Pelzer: sisters, Inez Porter, Dolly Ford, Connie Hoffman: brothers, Roy and Burton Hoffman: six grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the home of Jeannie Barnard, 705 Easley Hwy, Pelzer.
Prior to the service, the family will be at the home of Jeannie Barnard.

CARRIE JOHNSON
Carrie Bowen Johnson, 76, of Honea Path, widow of Lankford Johnson, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lula Mae Fletcher Bowen. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Anderson and retired from Belton Corporation.
Surviving are one son, Frankie Johnson of the home; two daughters, Darlene Templeton of the home and Vickie Fields of Honea Path; a brother, Paul Bowen, Jr. of Williamston; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 4 at Faith Baptist Church in Anderson. Burial followed in Garden of Memories.

JOHN ALLEN SMITH SR.
John Allen Smith, Sr., 74, of Williamston, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home.
Born in Anderson County to the late Lonnie Smith Sr. and Armethine Smith.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margie Lee Smith.
Surviving are three sons, John Allen Smith Jr., James Smith Sr., and Franklin Smith; one sister, Annie Lee Greer; one brother, David Smith; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Wednesday at Holloway’s Funeral Home. Burial followed at Belton City Cemetery.

DARLENE KELLY
Anna Darlene Kelly, 54, wife of Ronnie Kelly, died May 31, 2014.
Viewing will be from Wednesday at 11 a.m. until Thursday at 2 p.m. at 5 3rd Ave., Judson.
Funeral service will be held at 3 pm. Thursday, June 5 at CSSC–Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Piedmont.

CHRISTINE BLACKWELL DEAN
Christine Blackwell Dean, 89, formerly of Greenville, died Sunday, June 1, 2014.
She was born in Greenville to the late Hosey and Carrie Blackwell.
She retired from Plexon Corporation.
Surviving are her daughter, Connie Dean Loftis of Simpsonville; son, Chuck Dean of Piedmont; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
A graveside service was held Wednesday at Graceland West Cemetery.
