Ronald Williams

Ronald Gerald Williams of Williamston, 78, husband of Margie Ann Alewine Williams, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home. 

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Benjamin Tillman “B.T.” Williams and Pallie Ruth Harris Williams Blanton.  He was formerly employed with Sun Gas and a U.S. Army Reservist.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by brother, James “Jimmy” Williams of Williamston.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Memorials may be made to Pruitt Hospice – Pickens, 163 Love and Care Road, Six Mile, SC 29682 or the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.

Marveline Rodgers

Marveline Thompson Rodgers of Fountain Inn, 88, wife of the late Alton Eugene Rodgers, Jr. passed away Friday, May 27, 2022.

   Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late William Marvin and Hettie Mae Garrett Thompson. She retired from Pleasantburg Manufacturing Company and was a member of Daventon Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie Taylor of Pelzer and Martha McCuen of Fountain Inn; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday, June 2, at Daventon Baptist Church. The service to follow at 2:00 pm in the church. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Debbie Riddle

Boiling Springs – Debra Jo “Debbie” Shaw Riddle, 67, wife of Stephen Lee Riddle, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Born in Williamston, she was the daughter of Mary Colleen Masters Shaw and the late Joseph Elbert Shaw. She graduated from Palmetto High School, and Tri-County Technical School.  A former pre-school teacher for 37 years, she worked at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium ticket office, and was a member of Bethel Church of God of Abrahamic Faith.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by daughter, Heather Holcombe of Pelzer, and special friends, Jennifer Murray, and Beth Creamer.

Visitation was Tuesday, May 31, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Church of God of Abrahamic Faith, with the service following at 3:00 p.m.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Church of God of Abrahamic Faith, P.O. Box 367, Pelzer, SC  29669.

Carl W. Rogers

Williamston, SC- Carl W. Rogers, 90, husband of the late Nora Jean Burgess Rogers, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at his home.

Born in Williamston, SC, he was the son of the late Odell “Bud” and Jeanette Coker Rogers. He was affectionately known as “Meatball”.  Mr. Rogers served in the SC National Guard for 41 years. He was retired from Platt Saco Lowell. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pelzer.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Rogers Chasteen (Danny) of Williamston; two grandchildren, Reed Chasteen of Williamston and Morgan Chasteen (John Dubrueil) of Buford, GA; and a brother, Floyd Rogers (Elizabeth).

Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Richard Burton and Rev. Robert Parris. The family greeted friends at the cemetery following the service. The family is at the residence.
