Patricia Etris

Patricia Ann Cowart Etris of Pelzer, 71, wife of Edward Odell Etris, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

   Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Ruby Jenelle Alexander Cowart. She was a founding member of New Life Baptist Church in Pelzer.

   In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Angela Etris McCuen of Pelzer; six grandchildren.

Visitation was held April 10 at Gray Mortuary.

The funeral was April 11,  in the mortuary chapel, burial followed at Graceland Cemetery West.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church Missions, 215 Evans Drive, Pelzer, SC 29669.

Avery Ambrose

Avery Allen Ambrose of Easley, 53, husband of Terri Louise Wolgamott Ambrose, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023.

   Born in Gainesville, GA, he was the son of Sandra E. Ambrose of Easley and the late Luther R. Ambrose. He was the owner of Ambrose Truck Repair.     In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by son, Michael D. Ambrose of Blacksburg; daughter, Kristin Ambrose of Seneca; bonus daughters, Reachale Wood of Liberty and Nicholle Ritchie of Easley; sister, Lori Smith of Barnwell; two grandchildren, Paxton and Hazel Ambrose; and two bonus grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time.

Keith Kennedy

Ronald Keith Kennedy, Sr., of Piedmont, 82, husband of Connie Rebecca Taylor Kennedy, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at his home.

Born in Coronaca, he was the son of the late Ruth Eugenia Bates Kennedy. He was a member of Lifespring Church of God and retired from Crescent Supply Company. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by son, Ronald Keith Kennedy, Jr. of Greer and daughter, Dorothy Kennedy Tesnear of Piedmont; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The family received friends April 10, at Lifespring Church of God in Easley with the funeral service following at the church.  Burial was at Grove Station Baptist Church Cemetery, Piedmont.

Jackie Bell

John Thomas “Jackie” Bell of Piedmont, 70, husband of Donna Faye Hooper Bell, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Born in Allegheny, PA, he was a son of the late Marion Sheley and Frank Holt and John R. Bell. He retired from Michelin US-1 and he was a Baptist.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Lisa Lusk Jeanes and Robyn Lusk, both of Piedmont; step-daughters, Tracey René Liberty Lopez of Mauldin and Tonya Liberty Barker of Piedmont; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 Visitation was held April 11 at Gray Mortuary. The funeral followed in the mortuary chapel, with burial at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Florence “Flo” Ford

Williamston – Florence Gail Fougner “Flo” Ford, 89, wife of the late A.B. Ford, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023.

Born in Mitchell, SD, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Engvald and Edith Jackson Fougner. She retired from BASF and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, C.D. Ford (Deirdre), Brenda Jo Spratt of Belton, Vicky Parnell (Joe) and Terry Ford (Michelle), both of Williamston; brother, David Fougner of CO; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son, Robert Ford; brothers, Howard and Richard Fougner; sister, Margaret Smith; and grandchild, Wendy Ford.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Gray Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Plains Baptist Church Building Fund, 1435 Easley Highway, Pelzer, SC 29669.

Carl Looper

Carl Franklin Looper of Piedmont, 86, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Louie Eugene and Bessie Eller Tucker Looper. He retired from J.P. Stevens Estes Plant and he attended Restoration Chapel in Belton.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Jean Reece and Tammy Simmons both of Williamston; sister, Jean Payne of Piedmont; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held April 12, at Gray Mortuary. The funeral followed in the mortuary chapel, with burial at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.

Miriam Baker Cromer

Piedmont – Miriam Elizabeth Baker Cromer, 37, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023.

 Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Rev. Mike and Debbie Elrod Baker of Piedmont. Miriam was a graduate of Wren High School and North Greenville University, where she was a member of Joyful Sound. She was formerly employed with Morris Business Operations Company.  

In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughter, Price Elizabeth Donald of the home; and brother, Michael Daniel Baker (Deena) of Easley.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mount Airy Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church, with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joyful Sound, North Greenville University, P.O. Box 1892, Tigerville, SC 29688-1892.
