Danny Owen

Daniel Duffy “Danny Boone” Owen of Belton, 72, husband of the late Carol Amber Adams Owen, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Born in Williamston, he was a son of the late Willis Ansel and Dena Mae Ellison Owen. He retired as a self-employed residential carpenter. 

 He is survived by son, Jeffrey Owen; daughter, Stephanie Taylor; brother, Andy Owen, all of Belton; and three grandchildren.

 Visitation will be held Friday, June 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Dale Capps

Dale Darlene Thomason Capps of Piedmont, 75, wife of the late William Fred Capps, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023.

   Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Eunice Harris Mitchell.  She retired from Walmart and was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Valerie Burdette and Lindsey Capps of Piedmont; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Allen Bunk Johnson 

Allen Bunk Johnson 95 passed away on May 23, 2023, at his home in Greenville, SC. He was born on November 16, 1927, in Augusta, Georgia, and moved to Greenville at an early age. He served for 26 years in the Marine Corps and retired as First Sergeant.

After his military service, he worked as an insurance agent with Life of Virginia. 

He was elected to Greenville County Council and served District 26, which included Piedmont, for twelve years. He also built a real estate rental company where  he worked until his death.

He was predeceased by wife, Carol June Bryant.

He is survived by daughter, Carol Lawrence, son, Brad Johnson and five grandchildren.

A visitation was held May 27 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service following in the Northwest Chapel. A private burial was held in Graceland Cemetery West.
