John Thomas Walker, Billy Fricks, Addie Lee Lollis

 

Addie Lee Lollis

Addie Lee Morton Lollis of Piedmont, 99, wife of the late Alvin G. Lollis, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023.

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Chris and Molly Tinsley Morton. She was a homemaker and a member of Grove Station Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Dot Evans; son, Alvin Lollis, Jr. both of Piedmont; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 28, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Grove Station Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Billy Fricks

Billy Joe Fricks of Pelzer, 71, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, in Toccoa, Georgia.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Lewis Franklin and Eunice Azalee Mullikin Fricks.  A military veteran, he served in the United States Army.  He was formerly employed with Southeastern Sprinkler Company of Greenville, before he became disabled in 1979.  He was a member of Williamston Church of God of Prophecy currently named Restoration Chapel in Williamston, prior to his move to PruittHealth-Toccoa. 

He is survived by sisters, Eunice Bridges of Piedmont, Melvie Duncan of Pelzer, Mrytle Phillips of Pelzer, and Patricia Knight of Williamston; brothers, David Fricks of Clarkston, MI, and Wayne Fricks of Belton.

 The family received friends July 25 at Gray Mortuary, with the funeral immediately following in the mortuary chapel.  Burial was at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.

John Thomas Walker

John Thomas Walker, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished friend to many, passed away on July 18, 2023, at the age of 69. Born on October 13, 1953, in Anderson County, South Carolina, John’s journey was one filled with vibrant experiences and treasured connections.

John accomplished much during his time on this earth. He dedicated over 15 years of his life as a Timeshare salesman with Wyndham, where he left an indelible mark as a skilled professional. Outside of work, John had a deep passion for music, which he expressed as both a talented drummer and singer in a band. His love for football led him to play for Palmetto High School, creating lasting memories on the field.

Above all else, John adored his granddaughter, Kali, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Spending time with her brought out his radiant smile and laughter, making each moment together truly precious. A man of many stories, John had a captivating personality, which allowed him to easily connect with others. He had a knack for making strangers feel like friends, ensuring that no one ever felt alone in his presence.

John was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Heywerd Walker, his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Newton, his brother, Curtis Walker, and his sister, Bettye Walker. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

John’s memory will be carried on by his two daughters, Cassidy Walker and Justina Walker, and his beloved granddaughter, Kali Walker. Additionally, he will be dearly missed by his nephew, William Hughey, and numerous other family members and friends.

During this time of sorrow, may we find solace in the memories we shared with John and draw strength from the love he imparted on our lives. His spirit will continue to live on, reminding us of the importance of kindness, laughter, and the power of human connection. May John Thomas Walker rest in eternal peace.

A Graveside service will take place in South Carolina at Williamston Cemetery on August 8th 2023, at 10am.
