Roberta Kuykendall, Randy Hooper, Luke Hawthorne, Eddie Davis, Joseph Fleming

Joseph Fleming

Joseph Ashburn Fleming, 87, of Williamston, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024.

   Born in Hartwell, GA, he was a son of the late Joseph Ashburn Fleming, Sr. and Myra Nell Bowman Fleming. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle.

   He is survived by son, Michael Fleming of Williamston; daughter, Vickie Fleming of Williamston; brother, Lee Fleming of Hartwell, GA; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

 Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, March 22, at Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle. The service will follow at 11:00 am in the church. Burial will be at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

   Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle, 10 N. Circle Dr., Piedmont, SC 29673.

   The family will be at their respective homes.

Eddie Davis

Williamston – Robert Edward “Eddie” Davis, 86, husband of the late Miriam Shirley Rogers Davis, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024.

   Born in Belton, he was a son of the late Robert Lamar and Janie Nell Strickland Davis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served with the Fighting Seabees. Mr. Davis retired from True Temper after 34 years and was formerly employed with K & M Tool & Die Company for 10 years. He was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

   He is survived by his daughters, Donna Burroughs (Marc) of Williamston and Peggy Patterson of Easley; brothers, Jimmy Davis of Williamston and Jerry Davis of Abbeville; grandchildren, Drew Burroughs (Melissa), Nate Patterson, Andi Williams (Michael), and Ben Patterson (Meagan); and great-grandchildren, Miriam Williams, Skylar and Riley Burroughs, Livi and Addi Williams, Kinley and Beau Patterson.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Dan Patterson.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 19, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church. The funeral followed at 3:00 p.m., with burial in the church cemetery.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church Building Fund, 1904 Beaverdam Road, Williamston, SC 29697.

Luke Hawthorne

Joshua Lucus “Luke” Hawthorne, 45, of Piedmont, husband of Jennifer “Jenny” Leigh Garland Hawthorne, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024.

   Born in Anderson County, he was a son of William Ray Hawthorne of Belton and Terri Lee Harbin Hawthorne of Piedmont. He was a member of Bessie Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by children, Hattrick Hawthorne, Lindsey, Matthew, and Madison Bennett; brothers, Randy, Mark, Matthew, John, and Samuel Hawthorne; and one granddaughter.

The family received friends, March 17 at Bessie Road Baptist Church. A memorial service followed at the church.

Randy Hooper

James Randell “Randy” Hooper, 75, of Pelzer, husband of Lené Lynn Hooper, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late James Alfred “Jamie” Hooper and Patricia Ruth Moore Lusk. He retired from Solvay, Inc. and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Scott Stewart of Pelzer, Kimberly Williams of Easley, and Corey Hooper of Piedmont; step-daughters, Brandi Collins of Piedmont, Casey Bracken, and Sydney Childress; sisters, Donna-Faye Bell and Lisa Lusk; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends, March 19, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the funeral service following. Burial was at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Roberta Kuykendall

Pelzer – Roberta Fowler Kuykendall, 96, wife of the late John Lewis Kuykendall, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Sadie Jordan Fowler. She retired from First Citizens Bank, where she was a teller for 60 years. Mrs. Kuykendall was a member of Pelzer United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, James F. Kuykendall of Pelzer; daughter, Janet Kostyal of Pelzer; son-in-law, David Kostyal of Greenville; and grandchildren, Johnny Edmond, Joy Lisa Edmond, Ryan James Kuykendall, and Katherine Leigh Kuykendall.

   She was predeceased by a brother, Bill Fowler and sister, Jean Lindsey.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 20, at 3:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends following the service.
