ETHELEN ‘NANNY’ CHAPMAN
PIEDMONT – Ethelen “Nanny” Campbell Chapman, 77, of 12 Pine Bluff, widow of Will Horace Chapman, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Enos Hunley and Ethel Jane Hamilton Campbell. She retired from Carolina Blouse and was a member of Little River Baptist Church in Honea Path.
Surviving are daughters, Debra Thurston (Doug), of Piedmont, Joyce Newman (John), of Columbus, NC, Norma Reynolds (Joe) and Patricia Owen (Jack), both of Piedmont; sons, Earl Chapman (Beth) and Don Chapman, both of Piedmont; sister, Dorothy Mae McMahan, of Belton; brother, Charlie Campbell, of Ware Shoals; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

DONNA WATSON GIBSON
Donna Gibson, 53, wife of Dean Gibson, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
She was a daughter of the late Donald B. Watson and Iris Clark Watson. She was office manager of her husband’s business, Fleetmaster.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are a son, Lloyd Gibson of Piedmont; two grandsons; daughter, Doni Gibson of Columbia; brothers, Marty Watson and Byron Watson, both of Easley; sisters, Lynne Balentine of Piedmont and Lori Gillespie of Liberty.
Memorial services were held Friday, November 29 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

BETTY PATTERSON
WILLIAMSTON – Betty Joyce Epps Patterson, 84, of 303 Mill Street, widow of Jack Harris Patterson, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Oliver and Eunice Reid Epps. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, Trent (Carolyn) Patterson, of Honea Path, and Pat (Connie) Patterson, of Belton; sister, Mary Callaham, of Williamston; brother, Jerry Epps, of Williamston; grandchildren, Josh (Katie) Patterson, Jeremy (Erin) Patterson, Evan (Dave) Bryant, and Sam Patterson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Joe Epps.
Visitation was 1-2 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The funeral service followed at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family is at the home of Pat and Connie Patterson, 1570 Holiday’s Dam Road, Belton.

REV. LOYD DAVIS
LIBERTY—Rev. Loyd Lester Davis, 76, of 1125 Christopher Lane, husband of Mary Martinez Davis, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his home.
Born in Polk County, NC, he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Annie Champion Davis.  A member of the U.S. Navy, he was also a Baptist Minister and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by sons, Mark Davis (Emmi) of Liberty and Roger Davis (Vicki) of Easley; half-sisters, Doris Russell and Mildred; brothers, Rev. Toy Davis of Reidville, SC, Troy and Alan Davis of Campobello, SC; grandchildren, Mark Davis, Jr., Micheal and Amanda Davis; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Karson Davis.
Visitation was held 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  The funeral was Tuesday 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial was held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

CAROLYN BELLE DREHER
Carolyn Belle Dreher, of Greenville, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Franklin, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Fred and Mary Will Love Penland. She was married to the late Fred Dreher.
Surviving are daughters, Anna Chandler-Harrison of Pelzer, Janie Pepper of Simpsonville and Mary Dreher Murray of Easley; sons, John Albert Dreher of Piedmont and Robert Keith Dreher of Greenville; sister, Betty Jean James; brother, James Penland, both of Cleveland, OH; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral service was held Friday at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

BENNIE FREEMAN GOOLSBY, JR.
GREENVILLE, SC: Bennie Freeman Goolsby, Jr., 51, of Hiwassee Drive, died Friday, November 29, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness. Graveside services were held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery in Round Oak, with Rev. Jason Wade officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mr. Goolsby was born on April 19, 1962, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and had lived in Greenville for the past thirty-eight years. He was the son of Bennie Freeman Goolsby, Sr. and the late Madelyn Jean Swindle Goolsby.
After completing his education, Mr. Goolsby worked as a plant manager for Alman Plastic and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother: Mike Goolsby.
Mr. Goolsby is survived by his wife: Judy Marie Blackburn Goolsby; father: Bennie Goolsby, Sr.; sisters and brother-in-law: Brenda and Roger Chapman and Sudye Hammons; nephew: Aaron Hammons; and by two uncles, an aunt and two great-aunts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

FRANCES KING ALLISON
GREENWOOD – The beautiful spirit and soul of Frances King Allison entered into the kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Wesley Commons.
Born in Pelzer, SC, she was a daughter of the late Arvle Calvin King and Emma Lena Evans King. She retired from Reigel Textile. Frances was a non-denomination Christian for many years and her heart belonged to the nation of Israel and to God’s chosen people.
She was formerly married to the late William M. Allison of Ware Shoals and was preceded in death by two brothers, A. C. King, Jr. and Furman L. King; by a sister, Margaret King Bolden; and her beloved cat, Cassie.
Surviving are three daughters, June Allison Roark of Ware Shoals, Linda Allison Peters and Donna Allison Rachels (Larry), both of Williamston; three sons, W. Ronnie Allison (Pam) of Piedmont, Steven M. Allison (Ann) of Ware Shoals and Stanley M. Allison of Birmingham; two sisters, Gloria Garner (Ray) of Greenville and Shirley King of Washington, DC; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends at the Harley Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The family is at the home of her daughter, June Roark, 14 Green Acres Circle, Ware Shoals, SC.

DONNY RAY FREEMAN
Donny Ray Freeman, 56, of Anderson, died Thursday, November 28, 2013.
Born in Chicago, IL, he was employed at Michelin Tire.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Fleming Freeman of the home; son, Victor Freeman of Anderson; two step-sons, Jerry Williams of Starr and Gary Williams of Pelzer; two grandsons; mother, Judy Cook Love; and brother, David Freeman of Anderson.
Funeral service was held Monday, December 2 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

CHARLES L. EATON
PELZER – Charles L. Eaton, 82, of 115 Bowen Drive, husband of Mary Katherine Eaton, died December 2, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
He was twice married, first to the late Jeannette Fowler Eaton.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John Robert and Montine Gee Eaton.  He was a retired residential painter and a member of Eastview Baptist Church.  Mr. Eaton was a member of the Pelzer Masonic Lodge, Hejaz Shriners, and a charter member, helping to organize the Pelzer Rescue Squad.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughters, Diane Eaton of Belton, Pamela Charlene Halbrook of Anderson; step-daughter, Darlene Greenway of Belton; sister, Helen Lollis of Simpsonville; brother, Joe Martin Eaton of Pelzer; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Henry, Larry, Homer Eaton; sisters, Ailene Ellison, Margaret Dickson, Betty Parker.
Visitation was from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
The funeral service was at 2pm Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Revs. Charles Fuller and James Ellenburg officiating. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JENNY KNOX
Virginia Ann “Jenny” Spence Knox, 68, of Williamston,wife of Boyce Haywood Knox, died December 3, 2013.
Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Archie Mack and Frances Pauline Fagan Spence.  She was retired from Morgan Industries and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are her daughter, Ginger Griffith of Greenville; three grandchildren; sister, Shelby Spence Ellison of Williamston.
Visitation will be from 2-3 pm Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow at 3 pm at the church.  Burial will be at Robinson Memorial Gardens, Easley.

BECKY WATSON
PIEDMONT – Rebecca “Becky” Lee Bryson Watson, 50, of 247 South Circle Drive, widow of Christopher Watson, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at her home.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of Ruby Allison Bryson, of Piedmont, and the late Herbert Jewell Bryson. She was a homemaker.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her fiancé, James Mitchell, of the home; son, Richard Chad Alexander, of Piedmont; sisters, Sandra Gail Bridges, of Williamston, Wanda Dale Ambrose, of Belton, and Jackie Darlene Boswell, of Piedmont; and grandchildren, Hanna Lee Cassidy Alexander and Richard Chance Alexander.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jewel Susan Bryson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Piedmont Church of God.

TOM CORLEY
Robert Thomas “Tom” Corley, 50, of Piedmont, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Columbia, a son of the late Sidney Francis Corley, Sr., and the late Evelyn Epting Corley, he was employed with McKesson Corporation at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Columbia.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Moody Corley of the home; two daughters, Katelyn Corley and Kristen Corley, both of Piedmont; and a sister, Janet Corley Colbourne of Liberty.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
